Position:                          Assistant/Associate Professor – Finance

Department:                    Lundy-Fetterman School of Business

Status:                             Full Time (9 Month)

Position Summary:

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business (LFSB) at Campbell University seeks applicants for a Finance position, at the assistant, associate, or full level.  The Finance major is an outstanding opportunity to build, develop, and grow a program centered around student involvement.  The LFSB has the First Citizens Trust and Wealth Center trading room, the Burt Family Student-run Investment Fund, the Schaffernoth Family Student-run Investment, and the Center for Financial Literacy.  We also have the nation’s only undergraduate and graduate Trust & Wealth Management program, as well as the recently established Risk Management Institute.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate should be prepared to:

  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Typical teaching load is 12 hours per semester.  There are opportunities to teach online.  Summer teaching is also available.
  • Design and deliver courses using interesting pedagogy encouraging student involvement.
  • Develop activities and programs beyond the classroom which support a culture of student engagement while cultivating critical thinking skills and individual growth.
  • Advise students in academic scheduling and serve as a professional mentor.
  • Provide strong leadership, interest, and active support in building existing and new business degree programs.
  • Support the mission of the University.

Requirements | Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree in Finance (or related areas) desired.
  • Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
  • Professional experience and certifications are viewed favorably.

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Benefits include health, disability, and retirement plans.

About the Business School

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business offers 9 undergraduate degree programs, including Accounting, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, PGA Golf Management, and Trust and Wealth Management.  Approximately 650 undergraduate students major in the business school. One interesting feature is our students begin taking business courses during their first semester on campus and, therefore, participate immediately in business school programs.  We view the business degree as a four-year experience.

At the graduate level, Campbell Business also offers our part-time MBA, the Masters in Trust and Wealth Management, and the Masters of Accountancy at the Campbell Law School in downtown Raleigh, on Main Campus, and online.   The full-time MBA 4+1 Option is available at the main campus.
