Job Summary
The Department of Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine seeks a board-certified MD or DO colleague to join our team of educators for our residency program within our clinics. Clinic sites/locations include Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City, TN.
The qualified faculty physician will provide team-based care in the inpatient and outpatient setting at 80% (0.8 FTE) spent in direct patient care and precepting the care provided by residents in the Family Medicine Residency for ETSU Health Family Physicians. The remaining 20% (0.2 FTE) includes administrative time, teaching, and scholarly activities required as part of a core faculty member for the program and as a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine.
The ACGME accredits the Department’s clinical centers with a supportive hospital affiliation. The clinic utilizes an integrated, interprofessional approach to healthcare and serves a diverse patient population unique to the Appalachian region.
Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with prior academic experience as applicable.
The position is contingent upon sufficient funding, but a significant portion will come from clinical revenues at the site.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications
  • At the time of hire, applicants must be eligible for licensure in Tennessee and have completed an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
  • An unencumbered DEA license is required at the time of hire.
  • MD/DO ABFM or AOBFP Board-Certified or Board Eligible at the time of hire is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience
