Department Summary
The Computer Science and Engineering department is home to 11 Professors, 13 Associate Professors, 12 Assistant Professors, 11 Clinical Associate Professors, 12 Clinical Assistant Professors, 2 Principal Lecturer and 4 Lecturers, over 100 Ph.D. students, over 2,300 master students, and almost 1,300 bachelor students. We offer a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, M. S. degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Data Engineering, ABET-accredited B. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and an ABET-accredited B. A. degree in Information Technology, and a new B. S. degree in Cybersecurity. Position Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is recruiting for Assistant or Associate faculty positions with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024. We anticipate several openings in the Fall of 2024. As openings arise, we will actively source candidates from this applicant pool.
The College of Engineering has established college-wide priorities for the areas of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Autonomous Vehicles, Digital Manufacturing, and Smart Sensors.
The department plans to contribute to these priorities by hiring faculty in our existing strength areas of Algorithms and Computation Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Architectures, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering.
Candidates who can strengthen or complement one or more of the department’s existing strengths and/or college priority areas, are especially encouraged to apply. Areas of particular interest to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering are Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Engineering, Game Development, and Computer Graphics, however we welcome applications from almost all areas of computer science and computer engineering.
The candidates for these positions are expected to teach CSE undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program funded by external sources, support, and mentor graduate students, and provide service to the University and the profession.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related field. 
For an Assistant Professor position, a strong publication record and the potential to succeed in securing research funding and mentoring graduate students are required. 
For an Associate Professor position, a sustained record of providing mentoring to junior faculty, advising graduate students, providing service to the University and profession, and securing external funding for research activities are also required.
