The College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) is uniquely positioned as an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial research and education leader for the 21st century. CCI’s two departments, Information Science and Computer Science, complement each other to offer trailblazing research and education. In recent years, CCI has experienced substantial enrollment growth; recruited a number of new faculty; and has introduced new programs in data science, Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Business Information Technology (joint with LeBow College of Business). CCI occupies two-and-one-half floors in a brand-new building, constructed in 2019, offering state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, meeting areas, collaboration spaces, and a maker space. Job Summary

The Department of Information Science invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants will be considered for appointment at a rank commensurate with achievements and experience.

We encourage applicants with both technical and sociotechnical orientations with an emphasis on:

• human-centered AI/human-AI teaming
• information integrity/misinformation
• responsible/ethical AI
• social/organizational aspects of applied AI

Applications are encouraged from candidates with interest in using their research to solve socially relevant problems that expand and leverage the strengths of our Department, College, University, and greater geographic region.

Essential Functions

• Successful candidates will work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
• Applicants will be expected to establish a high-quality, high-impact sponsored research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels both on campus in Philadelphia and online, and advise and mentor Ph.D. students.
• Tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level are expected to provide service to the department/college, university, and broader scholarly community commensurate with rank.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ph.D. in a field relevant to the interdisciplinary interests of information science by the time of appointment
