Assistant/ Associate Professor and Director of Operative Dentistry Division - 230000029N 



Description

 

Assistant/ Associate Professor and Director of Operative Dentistry Division;  General Dentistry- Non-Tenure/Tenure Track

  • Primary responsibility for the providing preclinical and clinical education in risk-based diagnosis, prevention and treatment of caries and hard tissue lesions including knowledge of the discipline of Operative and Esthetic dentistry and the basic psychomotor development necessary to provide these services to patients
  • Prepare students for written national board exams and clinical board exams in the area of Operative Dentistry.
  • Participate in well managed patient care that is coordinated with other departments, including development of comprehensive treatment plans; staying up-to-date on teaching methodology and developments within the dental profession with regard to procedures and technology.
  • Provide research mentoring opportunities to pre-doctoral students and clinical faculty.
  • Provide indirect supervision to faculty in the Division of Operative Dentistry

 



Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • D.D.S./D.M.D. degree and meet eligibility requirements for a Tennessee dental license or educational faculty license.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:

  • 10 years experience of practice, military service, or academia.
  • Advanced degrees such as MS, MSD, PhD in the fields of Operative or Restorative Dentistry, and Board certification by the Academy of Operative Dentistry or the Federal Services Boards are preferred.
