The School of Applied Sciences at The University of Mississippi, is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor to serve as Program Director for our interprofessional degree programs in Applied Gerontology. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate Professor, as determined by experience and scholarly achievement. The successful candidate could begin as early as January 2022.


The successful candidate will direct the current bachelor’s degree and online undergraduate minor in Applied Gerontology and assist with development of new graduate offerings. The candidate will oversee program assessment and evaluation and work with other School of Applied Sciences faculty and staff in student recruitment and retention activities. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, the Program Director’s primary administrative responsibilities include achieving and maintaining professional and academic standards, budgeting, planning, development/fund-raising, sponsored program activities, agency outreach, alumni relations and other duties as assigned. The candidate will develop and maintain a research agenda, teach, and participate in service opportunities.
