Position Summary
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks an innovative educator to teach in the newly established Music Industry degree that focuses on music creation and production.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach undergraduate courses in music creation and production. Areas of instructional expertise may include, but are not limited to: composition and arranging, sound design, mixing and editing, songwriting, and professional development.

  • Remain active in creative activity/research pursuits in the field. Involvement with appropriate professional organizations such as SGA, ASCAP/BMI, and The Recording Academy.

  • Foster collaboration with other Indiana University units such as The Media School; Kelley School of Business; and Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Develop music industry professional connections that benefit Music Industry Department and its students.

  • Student advising, student recruitment, and service on departmental and Jacobs School committees is expected.
Basic Qualifications
A record of accomplishment in music creation, songwriting, production, publishing, and/or commercial recording. Expertise in studio recording and music performance is desirable. Expert-level Logic Pro knowledge and working knowledge of Pro Tools. Experience with teaching and curriculum development in a university environment. Master’s degree in music, audio production, or related fields is required. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
