Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor and Associate Director - Information System Program - Seattle
Successful candidates will be expected to teach six core or elective courses per year in the MS program in Information Systems. A reduced load will be negotiated to take on more administrative responsibility. Qualifications: A PhD in a related engineering field is required by the appointment start date The ideal candidate for this role will have a terminal credential in a related engineering field, 10+ years of experience in either higher education and/or a relevant engineering field, experience with academic programs and diverse student populations, and a demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. We are seeking an experienced professional, capable of independently leading program development, management, and performing a diverse range of academic support and management functions. A preferred candidate will have experience with: academic program design; managerial principles and practices; program planning principles; program coordination principles, practices, and techniques; troubleshooting and solving complex program issues; diverse populations and cultures. The ideal candidate will also have relevant industry experience and/or research program in the following areas such as: software engineering, algorithm design and analysis, machine learning/AI, application engineering, cloud technologies, Blockchain, Big Data technologies/platforms, and other. The position is new and it requires leadership, initiative, innovation, problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent judgements. A demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently, work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and experience in working with international students are required of the position. Additionally, a demonstrated ability or potential for teaching excellence is required, but we will consider fresh PhDs. Rank of appointment at the Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor level will be determined on prior experience and will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.
