Position Details:


Summary of Duties:

The successful candidate is expected to establish a dynamic, externally funded, nationally recognized research program, teach core and elective undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical engineering and/or bioengineering, mentor a diverse group of students, perform professional service at a level commensurate with rank, and publish scholarly work. VSCEB welcomes strong candidates who can complement departmental strengths in catalysis, bioengineering, and biochemical engineering. Priority will be given to candidates whose work shows significant promise and the potential to uniquely strengthen existing programs. Successful candidates will be able to build collaborations with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as well as other departments at WSU.


Required Qualifications:
Candidates for all ranks must hold a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemical or biomedical engineering, or a closely related field prior to the start of the appointment, an ability to teach core chemical engineering and/or bioengineering classes, and a commitment to collaborate with diverse internal and external groups.

Assistant Professor candidates must have a demonstrated record of scholarly work and potential to establish a robust nationally-recognized, extramurally funded research program that complements and uniquely strengthens existing program(s) within the school.

Associate Professor candidates must have a proven track record commensurate with rank including continued extramural research funding, publication of high-impact work in top-tier journals, evidence of effective teaching, and a commitment to service.

Full professor candidates must demonstrate distinguished records of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, international recognition, and an excellent current and past funding record.
