Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center invites applications from outstanding scientists for state funded faculty positions at all levels to conduct independent research. The applicant’s research should be in the areas of pulmonary cell biology and lung injury, cell motility and cytoskeletal remodeling/phenotype switching and motor protein function, vesicular transportation and secretion, airway and cardiovascular physiology/pathophysiology, pulmonary immunology, or ER and mitochondrial dysfunction.

The mission of the research program at UT at Tyler Health Science Center is to create an outstanding research community that links basic and translational sciences. The institution has established research programs in lung injury/repair, cell motility and cytoskeletal remodeling, cardiovascular diseases, and pulmonary infectious diseases. The successful candidate will be encouraged to interact with investigators in these areas. Applicants at the level of Associate Professor or higher should have extramural funding. Junior Faculty applicants with extramural funding are highly encouraged. Teaching in the biotechnology graduate program is encouraged.

Our institution is growing rapidly, and substantive resources have been allocated to build its basic and translational research portfolio. The Department has set up a state-of-the-art cellular and molecular imaging facility.
