Position Summary
The Prosthodontics department in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for our open rank faculty position (clinical or tenure track, at assistant, associate or full professor level). This will be a 12-month appointment at 1.0 FTE, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024, or sooner.
YOUR TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP MATTERS
With each student, each patient, and when working with colleagues, we rewrite the script determining the future of those we serve. We are seeking a new faculty member with expertise and experience in all aspects of prosthodontics and ready to build upon the school’s and campus’s tradition of excellence, advancing scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. Our new faculty member will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among members of various education, research, and service communities. The candidate will have expertise in digital methodologies and workflows in prosthodontics, including how those are implemented in didactic, preclinical, and clinical instruction as well as scholarly activity.
The primary responsibilities of this faculty member will be to provide preclinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to predoctoral dental students, to participate in competency assessments, and to help implement a comprehensive and robust predoctoral curriculum using state-of-the-art and emerging technologies. Teaching responsibilities may also include course directorship(s) as well as opportunities to participate in the postdoctoral prosthodontic curriculum in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics.

  • Completion of a DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree.
  • The candidate must have obtained an unrestricted Indiana dental license or an Indiana dental faculty license by the time of appointment. Information on state dental licensure is available at www.in.gov/pla/professions/indiana-state-board-of-dentistry .

Additional Qualifications
It will be a bonus if you have
  • A certificate of advanced education in Prosthodontics from a Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program.
  • Board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics.
  • A certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics from a program accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation.
  • Previous teaching experience in teaching.in the discipline of Prosthodontics
  • Master’s degree (or other advanced academic degrees) in the fields of Education, Prosthodontics, Dental Material, or Implantology.
Salary and Rank Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Base salary will be in the range of $103,500 - $133,500/year.
