Position Summary | The Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is pleased to announce a search for the Vice Chair of Education and Strategic Engagement position. The candidate will be a catalyst and a visible presence in the department, focusing on creating and sustaining 1) equity, inclusion, and belonging, 2) evidence-based solutions to health equity, 3) representational diversity, and 4) cultural humility. The Vice Chair will provide vision and leadership in inclusive excellence and lead the development, implementation, and oversight of programs and initiatives designed to create an environment where inclusive excellence is embedded in the departmental culture. The Department of Neurological Surgery provides world-class clinical care, research and education in neurosurgery and related neurosciences. Ongoing education of residents, medical students, faculty, and advanced practice providers is vital to the education mission of the department. Position Summary

Additional Qualifications | The candidate must be familiar with educational technology and have a background in higher education student assessment, program evaluation, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Strong administrative, communication, and writing skills must be demonstrated. Candidates must have the ability to work independently, have a strong internal drive and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
