Position Summary
The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is recruiting a Basic Scientist to serve as faculty. The Scientist will be appointed as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (with tenure or on the tenure track depending upon qualifications). The successful candidate must have either a Ph.D. or M.D. degree and have expertise in molecular mechanisms of disease. The Department is particularly interested in candidates performing basic or translational research to address fundamental mechanisms of human genetic disease, develop functional genomic or therapeutic approaches, and/or use computational and bioinformatic approaches for genetic discovery and phenotypic delineation. The candidate must be able to mentor medical students, graduate students, residents, and/or fellows in basic research. It is highly desirable for the holder of this position to have secured long-term NIH funding, and to have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or Terminal degree is required. A PhD, MD, or equivalent and evidence of expertise in molecular mechanisms of disease.
