Length of Assignment	Full-Time At-Will
Position Function	Perform duties as assigned within the Athletics health care program. Serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for the men’s basketball program.
Minimum Education	Bachelor’s degree by date of appointment from an accredited college or university; NATA certification; Indiana Athletic Trainer State License or eligible for licensure.
Minimum Experience	At least two years of related experience.
Minimum Other	Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy.
Authorization to work in the US	Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education	Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Experience	At least three years of related experience; at least one year of related experience within a basketball program.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening	Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
Position Title(s) Supervised	Graduate Assistants and/or Student Trainers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ranking	1
Job Duty	Serve as the athletic trainer and have direct supervision for men’s basketball, as necessary on a daily basis.

Ranking	2
Job Duty	Provide athletic training services to men’s basketball, including travel and coverage for home/away events.

Ranking	3
Job Duty	Evaluate injuries and make physician referral decisions for assigned sports.

Ranking	4
Job Duty	Design and implement, in coordination with the team physician, all rehabilitation and therapeutic programs for assigned sports.

Job Duty	Make recommendations for the coordination the day-to-day operations of the health care program for Intercollegiate Athletics.

Job Duty	Direct all communication between the athlete, training room staff, team physicians, and coaching staff for the assigned sports.

Job Duty	Coordinate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach, nutrition staff, and mental wellness staff regarding programs for injured and rehabilitating athletes.

Job Duty	Show commitment to and responsibility for, adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA.
