Assistant Archivist 1 Wooster Campus

 Under the supervision of the CFAES Wooster Campus Research Librarian the archivist assistant works closely with head librarian to plan and execute various collection projects.

Primary job duties are identifying, sorting, assessing, and moving collection materials and other records.  Updating associated records using excel and the library catalog.  Communicating with outside partners to arrange transfer of materials.  Small digitization projects as needed. All other duties as assigned.  The collection includes a wide variety of materials needed to support agricultural and applied life science research.  Materials include but are not limited to, scientific journals. monographs, government documents, historical records, photographs, and other institutional publications. 

The CFAES Wooster Campus Research Library is a small library, and some circulation and patron interaction will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to lift a box of 40 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Ability to be flexible with experience prioritizing multiple simultaneous demands.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired qualifications:

Basic understanding of academic periodicals or scientific communication.

Ability to work independently.
Attentional to detail
 One year of Microsoft Excel, Word, and relational databases.
Valid driver license  

This is a term part-time position. The pay range for this job profile is The pay range for this job profile is $13.84 - 18.45 hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, the candidate's qualifications and location.
