Work Schedule
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required in conjunction with special events.
Primary Purpose of Position
Provide coordination of data gathering, information management, and reporting for assessment of campus sustainability.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Contributing: Graduation from a four year college or university with a BA Degree and one year of program associate experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties
1. Gather and analyze sustainability-related data and ensure completion of sustainability assessments and reports.
2. Use financial, environmental, and socio-economic data to create meaningful statistics and track progress toward sustainability goals.
3. Manage reporting process and timelines for successful report submissions, working with data owners to ensure alignment of reporting timeframes, metrics, and methodologies.
4. Identify data collection and analysis program objectives, methods, and quality control measures.
5. Provide data analysis methodology and data trends to decision makers and other key stakeholders.
6. Assist in maintaining information on the program website, including dashboards and visualizations such as charts and infographics.
Other Work Responsibilities
1. Prepare reports and/or presentations employing data and findings.
2. Assist other departments in implementing data collection, providing data extraction, digitization, formatting, surveys, and other services as needed.
3. Serve as a member or leader of a program/project team and assist in developing project solutions.
4. Oversee the work of others, including student workers hired for assessment programs.
5. Assist with educational programs, presentations, and communications.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned or delegated.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
1. Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet and database software.
2. Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization software.
3. Experience with metrics tracking across sustainability topic areas such as climate, energy, water, waste, transportation, and purchasing.
4. Proven ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
5. Strong interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills.
6. Communicate in the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension).
7. Work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures.
8. Must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
9. Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with software for data analysis (spreadsheet, database, statistical, financial) and for presentations.
10. Experience working in a unit focused on data analysis and/or sustainability management.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
Valid driver’s License upon appointment to position, may operate assigned vehicles on and/or off campus.
