Job Purpose
This position will sustain overall assessment, accreditation, and reporting for the School of Education (SOE). They will be essential for the quality assurance of programs and depicting the SOE to the university and outside agencies.

Function Details
  • Responsible for collection, analysis and reporting of all data required for compliance with the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) to maintain program approval for SOE certification programs. Is the Gonzaga University SOE PESB representative for certification program accreditation through program compliance and work with the National Educational Research Data Center (EDRC).
  • Manages accreditation and outside agency reports in compliance with the agency standards, coordinates the report with the departments, and is responsible for SOE unit content, formatting, editing, and submitting reports.
  • Coordinates processes for gathering and presenting data to meet state and national accreditation requirements.
  • Prepares and submits required reports and evidence.
  • Manages and submit reports related to evolving standards and learning outcome requirements.
  • Stays abreast of updates and changes directly related to state learning and teaching standards that need to be integrated into the unit assessment system.
  • Prepares annual reports for various agencies (SOE Annual Report, PESB, Title II, NWCCU, Canadian Ministries, etc.).
  • Helps ensure that student learning outcomes and program goals are linked to assessments that meet NWCCU accreditation standards in conjunction with Associate Dean.
  • Works with unit and program administration to prepare for accreditation visits and ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Identifies and assist with implementing improvements in the SOE’s data resources and report production processes.
  • Follows up on departmental and program assessment action plans.
  • Approves folders/documents permitted for storage in the SOE Global Assessment System
  • Coordinates data review and analysis for program planning and continuous improvement in conjunction with Associate Dean.

  • Manages integration of assorted assessment components into a single, efficient system including administration of multiple platforms and data collection systems.
  • Manages all matters related to state and national standardized and licensure testing.
  • Administrates systems for collection, recording, and distribution/reporting. of NES, WEST-B, WEST-E, Praxis, edTPA, and ACTFL scores.
  • Administrates web-based assessment system.
  • Oversees the design, build, and deployment of online assessments and other data collection tools.
  • Coordinates with school districts to provide online access to assessment system for University Supervisors and students.
  • Reviews assessment instruments and work with stakeholders to adapt instruments as needed in support of accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Facilitates sharing of data with students, faculty, administrators, and the larger professional community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field that is related to Education, Statistics, Business Administration, Computer Science
  • 3+ years of work experience in research and data analysis
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze assessment data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a positive and effective manner
  • Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented; possess analytical skills and statistical ability to translate raw data from disparate sources into information and knowledge
  • Ability to travel via car and air
Desired Qualifications
  • An understanding of accreditation for education programs in higher education settings at local, state, and national levels
  • Proficiency with web-based assessment systems
  • Successful experience in the area of accreditation/continuous improvement in a higher education setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Banner, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Hyland OnBase, and electronic survey software​
