Art & Art History Temporary Pool - Drawing

Bloomsburg University's Department of Art & Art History seeks applicants for temporary faculty positions in Drawing as needs arise. Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in Drawing. Course(s) may include:  ARTSTDIO 111 Introductory Drawing; ARTSTDIO 153 Foundations; ARTSTDIO 212 Intermediate Drawing; ARTSTDIO 313 Advanced Drawing
Our Mission: The Department of Art and Art History provides an intellectual and creative environment in which students reach their potential as emerging artists and art historians. Our program cultivates in each student a considered and articulated understanding of the visual arts within the context of history and contemporary culture. We provide a broad foundation of experiences that embrace traditional practices as well as current approaches to the study of art. Students graduate from our program socially engaged, aesthetically conversant and devoted to a life in the visual arts.   

Minimum Requirements:
Master of Fine Art (MFA) in Drawing or related area (such as painting or studio art). A strong academic background, college teaching experience and a strong record of current exhibitions or professional activity preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of teaching classes online.

Finalist(s) for these positions must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time department faculty.
 
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to: employment verification, educational and other credential verification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and criminal background.
