Residence Life Programs

• Assist with the daily operations and management of area residential communities including oversight of residential programs, community development, resident interventions, leadership development, diversity initiatives, student success programing, student conduct, and progress toward departmental goals.

• Support first year retention and student success initiatives for students; monitoring i-Advise activities, collaborating on interventions, and creating reports.

• Collaborate with university departments to build relationships to enhance the residential living experience.

• Facilitate faculty collaborations with faculty in residence partners.

• Assist with the development of diversity and student engagement initiatives.

Student Conduct, Intervention and Support

• Manage and monitor budget spending for residential programming and events Student Conduct, Intervention and Support.

• Coordinate and manage student conduct process and crisis response including timely follow up on community concerns with students, parents and university stakeholders.

• Communicate with hospitals on discharge terms and treatment of resident patients. Follow up on student compliance through care plans and other interventions.

• Remain current and knowledgeable on rules and policy related to Title IX, State laws, regulations and Department of Education guidance while providing support, resources, and necessary reporting.

Strategic Planning and Goal Setting / Campus Housing Promotion and Marketing

• Work with senior leadership on policy decisions regarding best practices, concepts, and standards.

• Assist in departmental recruitment and retention programs, promoting Campus Housing to current and prospective students at admissions events, information fairs, open house events, athletic events and first year orientation.

• Create, communicate, and manage resident hall events, scholarship programs, and other programs to strengthen current residents’ engagement with Housing. Emergency Response and On-Call Duty

Emergency Response and On-Call Duty

• Provide direct crisis intervention, counseling, and conflict resolution for residents and consultation & coaching for supervisees engaged in crisis response.

• Serve on after hours on call rotation responding to crisis situations including weekends and holidays. Escalate complex inquiries and situations to senior management.

Staff Management

• Supervise, develop, and evaluate full time Residence Directors, Housing Administrators, Housing Officers, and Housing Representatives. Indirectly manage student managers and students

• Plan, assign, and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met.

• Hire, train, and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
