Position Summary

This position will provide students with hands-on-experience working with archaeological material culture and in collections management procedures.
Duties:
Student will work on inventorying and researching ground stone curated at the Maxwell Museum and stored at the museum’s off-site storage facility on the UNM campus. Examples of work include locating and pulling ground stone from shelving units; creating an inventory in Excel; identification of ground stone; other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:

Undergraduate student in anthropology or an allied field. Prior course work, training, experience, or other knowledge of the material culture of New Mexico. Competent using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift 40 lbs. boxes and ground stone, work in dusty spaces, and perform other moderate physical activities.
