Summary of Job Duties:
The APRN will be responsible for direct patient care and for other administrative duties as designated by the Medical Director and his/her designee and in accordance with the Arkansas Medical Practice Act and the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure. Current DEA Certification or eligibility
Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area of Family Medicine.
One year experience as APRN.
Experience with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities population preferred.

Responsibilities:
Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests including x-rays relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
Facilitates staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
Performs other duties as assigned.
