Description:

The University of Illinois Chicago has an exciting opportunity for an APRN to work in our outpatient Gastroenterology clinic, located in the Specialty Care Bldg. The APRN will support the Gastroenterology team, be required to provide patient care and manage general Gastroenterology patients independently, under the supervision of a physician. APRN will advocate for patients, families, co-workers, the community, and the nursing profession. Integrate evidence-based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision-making. Participate in peer review and competency assessment activities, seek experiences and formal and independent learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge. Establish an effective relationship with the entire care team. May advance the profession through presentations and publications and may lead and assist in research and evidence based practice through participant selection, coordination of the protocol(s), data.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctorate degree in Nursing required. Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois required.
Staff Nursing experience in Gastroenterology and Hepatology preferred.
