Description


Suffolk University seeks a full time Applications Technical Analyst, Information Technology Services located at 73 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02108 to work with stakeholders including end-users, business analysts, subject matter experts, and vendors to provide implementation and post-production support for both the Workday Financials and Student modules. Analyzing, configure, and testing business processes to ensure proper operation of the Workday configuration. Duties include:

  • Develop and implement new/enhanced Student Workday, Workday HCM/Payroll and Finance modules;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including end-users, business analysts, subject matter experts, and vendors to implement the Workday Student Module;
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Workday business process configuration and Workday reporting model;
  • Configure complex Workday application functions for enterprise resource planning tools that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop human-centered design (HCD) processes and approaches to deliver a broad range of sustainable solutions.
  • Analyze standard business analysis methodologies by outlining issues, business opportunities, and software solutions.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement of our Software systems;
  • Lead user research efforts to gain an understanding of customer and stakeholder pain points, challenges, and needs;
  • Define and deliver design configuration and report solutions that meet user needs and expectations;
  • Translate user needs and practices into comprehensive system design;
  • Identify and recommend business process improvements and solutions;
  • Analyze and anticipate risk and define strategic recommendations for software releases;
  • Provide support and maintenance of Workday to ensure optimal user functionality and technical integrity of configurations;
  • Create and contribute to business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional specification documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documentation as necessary;
  • Mentor other functional analysts actively sharing knowledge to develop in-house expertise on Workday;
  • Work with centralized reporting team to set priorities, develop, test and roll out new/changed reports.

Position requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or similar field, plus five (5) years of progressive Workday experience, including development, implementation, configuration, and support. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

  • 5 years of experience in Workday Basic Reporting
  • 5 years of experience in Workday Functional Configuration
  • 5 years of experience in Workday Business Process Framework
  • 3 years of experience in Workday Composite Reporting and Analytics
  • 3 years of experience in Workday Integrations
  • 3 years of experience in Workday Security Configuration
  • 3 years of experience in Workday Financials Module
