Application Manager II, IT
VP Technology/Infrastructure
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Application Manager II focuses on customer service, and supports the applications and user community of Tulane University.
The Application Manager II has deep knowledge of our current systems and how to administrate those systems in the development, test, and production environments. This person is a senior Operations team member. Duties include interacting with customers, delivery, and operations teams, and determining support requirements for Tulane applications.
The Application Manager II is responsible for application configuration and management, including software installations, system monitoring, and error resolution.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience with customer service and an ability to manage customer relationships. 
• Troubleshoot customer issues and work on service requests.
  o Ability to analyze logs on the server and within the application.
• Implements new application features.
• Participates in vendor initiatives. 
• Participates in the installation and patch life cycle.
• Provides tier two/three support for assigned applications.
• Ability to read, summarize and communicate out release notes.
• Senior technical resource in the roll out of new application functionality.
• Create and maintain system architecture and process flow diagrams. 
• Create and manage system customizations.
• Manage user roles and responsibilities. 
• Coordinates with technical teams. 
• Participates in release management life cycle.
• Familiar with operating systems and system administration.
• Comfortable using FTP, firewalls, checking file permissions.
• Ability to organize and track work and time in an Agile format. 
REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation, required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable discipline
AND
• Bootcamp Certified
AND
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer support and application management with a strong focus in operational processes.


OR
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in enterprise application support, support for agile application processes, and business unit support.
Preferred Qualifications
• Preferred o Scripting in a language like JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell. 
  o Ability to write SQL queries.
  o Experience with Agile project management practices. 
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26PREM.
