The Application Administrator works with students, staff, faculty, internal application business owners, internal development resources, external vendors, and members of Babson ITSD to ensure that systems are meeting the business unit needs. Specifically responsible for the success of ITSDâ™s initiatives supporting the maintenance and administration of the college enterprise wide systems such as student information system, student data systems, learning management systems, online collaboration systems, etc.; as well as applying customer service, project management, technical, analytical, consultative and problem-solving skills to the analysis, testing, documentation, implementation, support and maintenance of Babsonâ™s critical enterprise wide systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Acts as the primary application administrator for one or more of Babsonâ™s enterprise wide critical systems and as such is responsible for:
  • Providing tier 3 (tier 1 and 2 are the IT Service Center) support via customer contact, tickets, and calls
  • Managing application upgrades; testing and installing system modifications/upgrades/patches
  • Maintaining accounts and security
  • Working with internal technical resources and external vendor for issue resolutions and version upgrade
  • Independently providing support and training to system business owners as well as IT Support Cener resources
  • Creating basic how-to documentation as needed
  • Managing user groups to bring business owners and members of IT together to support the system in the best way possible.
  • Participating in vendor user groups, pilots, and customer programs as needed.
  • Supports Change Control Request process to ensure all changes are reviewed and approved.
  • Supports ITSD Event Log processes to ensure all changes are documented.
  • Partners with team manager as new processes are defined and implemented.
  • Supports team members as needed to ensure team goals are being focused on.
  • Supports service request metrics and analysis.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
At least 3-5 years of experience leveraging the Microsoft Office 365 Suite to support, design and develop solutions utilizing the following systems:

  • Overall Platform: Ability to manage user rights and application settings, in partnership with Babson Systems resources and external MS vendor resources, focused on providing end user support.
  • SharePoint: Utilization of collaboration and information sharing.
  • OneDrive: Utilization for personal file storage including file sharing.
  • Business Intelligence: Educate and support users with PowerBI and SharePoint to expand the capability of Office tools and enhance information development and sharing.
  • PowerPlatform: Educate and support users with PowerPlatform for low code/no code solutions.
  • Teams: Support as an asynchronous collaboration tool.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint advanced features as well.
  • 3-5 years experience supporting Microsoft 365 and one or more of the following applications is required: Cisco Webex, Canvas, Cvent, Form Assembly, Qualtrics, EMS, JIRA or Confluence.
  • 1 or more years of experience supporting data flow and integration needs for Microsoft 365.
  • 3-5 years of experience partnering with in house and vendor Microsoft 365 engineers focused on providing end user support

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelorâ™s Degree
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in technology, preferably in higher education
  • Must have strong business/workflow analysis and relationship management skills
  • Must have knowledge of data flow and process life cycles in an academic environment
  • Must have strong customer focus and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues and customers in a collaborative and cooperative spirit
  • Must have a willingness and drive to learn new applications as they are added to the Babson portfolio, so that management and support can be provided.
  • Must possess superior written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; must possess strong analytical, relationship management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with limited supervision, must be a self-starter, a problem-solver, and be able to successfully manage multiple tasks.
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to be part of a world-class organization.
  • Must feel comfortable working with all levels of colleagues.
  • Ability to present to a small group and lead a meeting for a small group.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects.

  • Must be comfortable learning new tools and trying new processes

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • Option for position to be fully remote.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role:

  • Salary range is $88,000-$97,624
  • Bonus Eligible

The successful candidateâ™s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
