ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER (APP) HOSPITAL MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP

 The Division of Hospital Medicine at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is accepting applications for Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellows. Candidates must be Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants and must be board-certified through the American Nursing Credentials Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). In addition, candidates must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board or Texas Board of Nursing and maintain a certification through the DEA as well as a BLS through the American Heart Association.
 
This fellowship equips APPs to become inpatient providers in Hospital Medicine. The goal of the fellowship is to train hospitalist physicians for clinical practice, research, teaching, and administrative duties. The fellowship is designed for APPs preparing for a career in clinical hospital medicine. Fellows will also serve a portion of their time independently as clinical faculty.
 
The fellowship duration is 13 months. Fellows’ focus will be learning and practicing clinical medicine, with educational, quality improvement, and research opportunities available if interested.
