ANSEP Director of Summer Programs (Temporary)

The ANSEP Summer Bridge program is a 10-week summer program for recent high school graduates transitioning into their first year of university. ANSEP Summer Bridge focuses on developing students academically, socially and professionally for college and careers. Students receive training for a summer internship with an ANSEP strategic partner and guidance on college and career readiness. The ANSEP Summer Bridge Director works closely with students, Youth Peer Mentors, Lead Youth Peer Mentors, and ANSEP Directors to ensure students receive the guidance and resources they need to excel in their internships and successfully transition into a degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska. The ANSEP Summer Bridge Director also works closely with the ANSEP Acceleration Academy and University Success Directors to ensure a successful transition of students through the ANSEP component programs.

To excel in this role, the candidate should have leadership and administrative experience with education programs. The candidate should have experience mentoring teens and young adults and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. It is preferred that the candidate have experience with residential programs and experience in working with Alaska Native, American Indian, and rural students and cultures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
of training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, exempt temporary, staff position  New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary staff salary schedule , Grade 80, based on education and experience.
