Definition of Class

This position cultivates, solicits and stewards prospects locally and regionally for gifts of $1,000 - $25,000 (Leadership Annual Giving). The incumbent plans face-to-face visits, proposals, and asks, to solicit annual gifts from prospects locally and regionally and participates in multiple funding channel activities such as direct mail, email, crowdfunding or calling.


Examples of Work Performed
  • Works with prospect researchers to identify portfolio for annual gift donors less than $25,000 (Leadership Annual Giving).
  • Develops strategies for face-to-face visits, proposals, and asks, to seek gifts from prospects locally and regionally.
  • Ensures majors gift officers are kept abreast of efforts to contact/ask/steward prospects within their assigned schools, areas of focus, or when a donor moves into a major gift range.
  • Coordinates activities with contractors or University Communications department to design and distribute solicitations.
  • Builds donor pipeline via multiple channels, such as direct mail, email, crowdfunding or calling.
  • Develops targeted reporting and tracking for assigned segment.
  • Assists the team in the development of a comprehensive annual giving program, setting donor retention strategies and fund raising goals, and establishing schedules.
  • Monitors aspects of funding channel activities, including participation rates of prospects and donors, donor movement through giving levels and donor retention.  
  • Tracks donor acquisitions, renewals, and manages memberships as assigned.  
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates and participates in multiple funding channel activities.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.

    AND


    Experience:
    Two (2) years of experience related to the essential functions of this position.

    Substitution Statement: 

    Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
