Definition of Class

This position cultivates, solicits and stewards prospects locally and regionally for gifts of $1,000 - $25,000 (Leadership Annual Giving). The incumbent plans face-to-face visits, proposals, and asks, to solicit annual gifts from prospects locally and regionally and participates in multiple funding channel activities such as direct mail, email, crowdfunding or calling.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Represents the Law School at universities, fairs, and forums to recruit students to the JD program.
  • Plans and executes recruiting events.
  • Fields inquiries from prospective students.
  • Completes various administration tasks associated with recruitment.
  • Acts as a liaison to other departments on campus in assisting student with admissions processes.
  • Assists the Director of Admissions with projects as required.
  • Identifies and prioritizes prospects for annual gift donors less than $25,000.
  • Visits 65 to 85 prospects each year to solicit gift and steward annual donations.
  • Ensures major gift officers are kept abreast when a donor moves into major gift range.
  • Participates in development of donor retention strategies and fundraising goals.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  • Solicits and stewards prospects locally and regionally for gifts of $1,000 - $25,000.
  • Coordinates and participates in multiple funding channel activities.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.


    Two (2) years of experience related to the essential functions of this position.

    Substitution Statement: 

    Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
