Job Overview

The Carl H. Lindner College of Business, Department of Finance, is accepting applications for one or more annual adjuncts (part-time) faculty. On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to students.

 

The department offers courses in both in-person (on campus) and online formats.  Online courses are typically (but not always) delivered asynchronously.  The department frequently has needs in all 3 areas housed in the Finance department and for teaching in both in-person and online formats.  Annual adjuncts may be assigned to either delivery format after consultation with the department head.


Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Finance (or a related field) or relevant professional certification (e.g. CFA or CFP).  ABD in Finance or Economics will also be acceptable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals.
