<!--anchor--> <!--anchor--> Postdoctoral Fellow – RNA Chemical Modification Sequencing, Goyon Lab <!--anchor-->

Updated: about 11 hours ago
Location: San Francisco, CALIFORNIA
Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

The Position

We have an opening for a highly passionate postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in RNA sequencing, including RNA chemical modifications, and structure determination. The fellow will join the Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) organization. Research endeavors will involve: i) the development of a platform technology for the direct sequencing of therapeutic RNAs and their chemical modifications; ii) understanding of chemical modification effect on RNA function and stability; iii) identification and quantification of chemically modified RNA molecules naturally occurring in biological matrices. The successful candidate will have the access to direct sequencing technologies including Nanopore and multi-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (mD-LC-MS), and the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.

Who you are:

  • Candidates must have a PhD in RNA analytical, biochemical, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Have one or more first-author publications in high quality journals.
  • Experience with the sequencing of RNA, including their modifications, and structure determination (Nanopore is preferred).
  • Experience with biophysical characterization methods for protein-nucleic acid interactions and genome editing performance (such as the CRISPR/Cas9 technology) or in vitro assay development are beneficial.
  • Practical knowledge of computational data analysis tools is desired.
  • Pragmatic and focused researcher, driven to solve complex scientific problems independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Efficient oral and written communication skills are required.
