<!--anchor--> <!--anchor--> Postdoctoral Fellow - Proteomics of Regeneration, Ori/Jasper Labs <!--anchor-->
The Position
We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love.
The Microchemistry, Proteomics, Lipidomics & Next Generation Sequencing department (MPL-NGS) develops and employs innovative proteomic and genomic technologies to advance basic research programs as well as support a multitude of modalities across Genentech’s therapeutic pipeline. The Regenerative Medicine department aims to restore, maintain, and improve human health through regeneration. We are dedicated to thorough research and clinical translation in stem cell biology to rejuvenate cells, tissues, and organs to treat and cure diseases.
A position is available for a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in tissue regeneration, stem cell biology, and omics data to join the MPL-NGS and Regenerative Medicine Departments at Genentech. We have cutting edge facilities in-house for proteomics, NGS, CRISPR screens, in vitro and in vivo models, and computational biology.
The Opportunity:
The project will entail a combination of unbiased discovery and hypothesis driven research to derive causal relationships between pathways supporting tissue homeostasis and regeneration.
Dynamic areas of research include high-throughput proteome profiling of primary tissues and organoids, mechanistic investigation of disease relevant proteoforms and organelle proteomics.
You will be responsible for generation of large scale datasets, derivation of causal models and follow up mechanistic investigations of novel findings.
You will work at the interface between disciplines and leverage expertise from different research areas including proteomics, functional genomics, computational biology, regenerative medicine and immunology.
Who You Are:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in biology, biophysics, biochemistry or a related discipline
Strong background in culturing and manipulating organoid models, CRISPR screens or stem cell biology as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals.
Team player with a proactive attitude to tackle long standing, difficult problems in epithelial and regeneration biology.
Preferred:
Strong computational skills would be advantageous. Previous experience with proteomics is not required.
Highly motivated and capable of independent work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
