Anatomy Prosector and Instructor

Job Summary:

The department of Cell & Developmental Biology is searching for an Anatomy Prosector and Instructor for the Pre-Clerkship phase of the MD Program with a start date of approximately June 1, 2024. This 1.0 FTE position serves in conjunction with other Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) faculty and staff to prepare CU’s physician graduates to be systems thinkers, who provide exemplary patient and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance, dissection, and preparation of 16 human cadavers utilized for educational purposes in the MD program.
• Ensure that cadavers are appropriately dissected and prepared to facilitate effective learning experiences for students.
• Rotate throughout the lab during student sessions, offering guidance and support as needed.
• Dedicate two hours per week to conducting office hours for student inquiries.
• Facilitate open labs to further enhance student understanding and skill development in anatomical studies. 

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.  

• Master’s Degree (or higher) in anatomy or related field.
• Prior working experience in human cadaver dissection experience (full body).
• Prior teaching experience in a human cadaver lab.
• Candidates must be able to obtain a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Human cadaver dissection experience within last 2 years.
• Human cadaver lab teaching experience within last 2 years.
• Experience working in a team setting.
• Demonstrate an interest in medical student education. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced Knowledge of human gross human anatomy.
• Integrity, civility, professionalism, and commitment to School of Medicine values.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, and leadership team members.
• Ability to be self-directed.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$66,000 to $68,000 per annum

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
