The Department of Pathology at The Miriam Hospital and the Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Surgical Pathologist with subspecialty in Pediatric Pathology  to join the Lifespan Academic Medical Center.  The successful candidate must quality for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  Minimum requirements include board certification in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (or Canadian equivalent).  Pediatric Pathology training with board eligibility is required.  Training in Pediatric Surgical Pathology and postmortem diagnosis, and experience with adult surgical pathology is highly desirable.  

The incumbents will be expected to develop and maintain an independent research program in the general areas of surgical pathology.  The incumbents will also be expected to participate in the teaching of residents and fellows in the Department and in the teaching of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine courses, in supervising clerkships for medical students at Brown University and/or in providing instructional support to the medical technologist training programs in the Department of Pathology. Candidates should have experience in a university hospital or comparable institution with an active oncology service. Those candidates applying at the rank of Associate Professor must have a national reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate to this level.
