Anatomic Pathology Diener Technologist 2 who carries out donor preparation, maintenance, cleaning and inventory duties for the Body Donation Program to include but not limited to receiving, processing, embalming (as directed), and storing all human bodies acquired through the Body Donation Program; securing samples for serology and COVID testing and coordinating processing with external vendors; serving as the point person for contracted vendors (e.g., livery service) and external programs receiving/returning anatomical materials; preparing anatomical materials for educational and research needs for internal and external programs, as directed; assisting in the preparation and storage of prosections; closely monitoring anatomical materials used for extended periods of time; maintaining donor inventory tracking; preparing donors for cremation and receiving/processing cremated remains; upholding the highest standards of care to ensure the utmost respect of all human body donors; maintaining cleanliness of the morgue, including the coolers/freezers, and re-stocking supplies as needed; tracking inventory of personal protective equipment, chemicals, cleaning supplies, and other materials used in the morgue. Work closely with the Anatomy Lab Technician for lab turn-overs, preparation, and maintenance. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Anatomical Services and Body Donation Program.

Minimum Education Required:  Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Sciences, Biological Science or Mortuary Science.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Sciences, Biological Science, or Mortuary Science required. Embalming license, active and in good standing in the state of Ohio, highly desirable. Knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and precautions as related to the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability  to understand and carry out instructions. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Highly developed organizational skills to keep complete, concise, and clear records. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
