Position Summary:
The Clinical Trials Business Analyst will support and contribute to the comprehensive financial coordination of clinical research business administration and systems essential to the successful start-up and management of the Hospital's portfolio of drug and device studies. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Trial Operations, the Clinical Research Business Manager will have responsibilities to ensure accuracy across all areas of clinical research study budgeting and finances, including, financial feasibility, budget development, billing, and reimbursements. The Business Manager will work collaboratively with cross functional groups (e.g., Legal, Finance, Hospital Billing, system owners, and Clinical Operations) to ensure proactive communication is used to identify potential issues and/or inconsistencies and take corrective action as appropriate. This position will coordinate with hospital stakeholders and clinical service providers to develop and maintain comprehensive financial/clinical trial performance reports for the ongoing tracking and assessment of the Hospital's clinical research portfolio. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:
* CONSULTANT - Serves as a consultant to investigators and research teams for hospital departments, medical staff departments, and Health Sciences Center in billing process, compliance, budget negotiation and contract management.
* AUDIT - Develop, oversee and conduct various routine and special audits, research and correct data to maintain integrity of programs
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* FINANCE - Assist Director in the preparation and implementation of the objectives and policies of fiscal matters related to human subject clinical research
* COMMUNICATION - Update the Director and/or UNMH leaderships on the status of all research operational metrics and measurement activities
* LIAISON - Serve as a liaison for research finance as required
* REPORTS - Display and report data in a statistically accurate/valid and clinically relevant manner in appropriate visual formats to UH/HSC departments and committees
* ANALYSIS - Assists, through data retrieval and analysis, in the assessment of the overall effectiveness and direction of the UNMH/CTO Quality Management program
* ANALYSIS - Understands and is able to appropriately utilize applicable computer software programs to compile, format, analyze, interpret and report financial and billing data.
* FINANCE - Interpret Hospitals policies and accounting processes and procedures to the staff
* COMMITTEES - Maintain active membership in pertinent committees, as required
