As part of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Development and External Relations team, provide leadership, support, coordination and services to help build philanthropic support for CAES research, teaching, and service mission and it’s related fundraising priorities

Job Summary            

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Development and Donor Relations, direct and implement a strategic and comprehensive engagement plan for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences that is valued by alumni, stakeholders, and donors, and which enhances the college’s reputation, builds loyalty and financial support while developing mutually beneficial relationships that advance the college’s mission. Utilizing industry and campus best practices, develop strategies to increase engagement with external audiences, in particular alumni, in the essential areas of communication, events, volunteerism and philanthropy. Partner and collaborate with internal and external campus stakeholders to showcase the college and university, while working closely with marketing and communications to develop content, materials, marketing plans and related programs to engage, cultivate, steward and further showcase departmental development and external relations priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

 

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

 

  • Experience developing, planning, and implementing creative events and programs.

 

  • Knowledge and experience in the strategies of fundraising activities.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Extensive knowledge of principles of practice and methods for the operation of a successful alumni relations program in alignment with CASE standards.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to establish, steward and grow productive relations with alumni, stakeholders, and volunteers.

 

  • Ability to lead staff and volunteers and promote team environment to achieve institutional goals. Demonstrated experience delivering quality service with proven aptitude for working as part of a team.

 

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate clearly and persuasively in a collaborative setting to facilitate and accomplish goals in a timely manner.

 

Preferred:

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Knowledge or experience in fundraising within higher education institutions.

 

  • Experience applying CASE standards for alumni relations in daily work.

 

  • Experience with Advancement Information System, DaFIS, Banner and other large database programs.

 

  • Experience in absorbing complex technical and conceptual information, identifying key issues and details, and presenting understandable alternatives, both orally and in writing, to individuals of varying technical expertise at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures to interpret and apply policies and procedures for alumni and volunteer engagement.

 

  • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
