Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

The Alumni Affairs Coordinator and Career Counselor gives career service support to both current law students and College of Law alumni. 
Essential Functions: 
1. Provide support to the Director of Career & Professional Development to engage and equip law students and graduates in job search strategy and professionalism through coaching appointments, material edit and review, programing, and other methods.

2. Cultivate relationships with alumni and manage the College of Law alumni chapter, including collecting, managing, and maintaining data and contact information of alumni, using various software systems, assist with data inquiries and organization, and prepare records and reports for annual American Bar Association reporting.

3. Operate and manage the Belmont University College of Law Inn of Court chapter. Work closely with the Executive Committee and members. Pair incoming students with attorney mentors and troubleshoot concerns.  Coordinate catering and program management. Create necessary materials (flyers, posters, name badges, handouts, etc.).  Obtain CLE approval on all programming and officially record CLE credit for Inn members.

4. Coordinate special events for College of Law students and alumni (alumni reunions, symposia for the law review and journals etc.) including promotion, registration, logistics, participant correspondence and follow-up

5. Develop and compile communications and materials for and about alumni, including news, announcements, social media posts, etc. and assist in recruiting prospective students by identifying alumni who can address specific questions about their area of practice.

6. Serve as liaison between the College of Law and Belmont University’s Office of Alumni Engagement.

7. Assist in the execution of Career Development initiatives including programming, On Campus Interviews, and material development. Assist and/or lead programs as assigned. Assist in identifying guest speakers and drafting handouts for students. Coordinate catering, room scheduling and general administration of Career Development programs. Update Career Development Handbook and other materials used on a regular basis, and coordinate production. Assist with acquisition and management of a Career Development Library for students (electronic and hard copy).

8. Maintain Briefcase. Enter job postings, OCI and other schedule requests.  Act as a primary contact for all new system updates and trainings.

Any other duties assigned by the Director of Career & Professional Development.

Required Education Juris Doctor from an accredited law school required.
  
Required Experience Minimum two years of professional experience.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.
