Job Description Summary:
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: MD/DO; Board Certified in Medicine, Pediatrics or Medicine/Pediatrics. Board Certified/Eligible in Allergy


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Clinical experience in Allergy and Immunology and experience in education and/or research


Job Duties Outlined:

  • Provide patient care in ambulatory clinic and inpatient consultation. Model best practices for diagnosis and treatment of illness and conditions. Complete appropriate documentation of patient encounters for medical follow-up and timely billing.

  • Instruct and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in a variety of settings. Coach and guide learners appropriate to their educational level. Evaluate learner’s progress.

  • Contribute to various research activities of the of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Research could include retrospective studies, clinical trials and/or grant funded studies.
  • Participate in Division, Department, and School of Medicine faculty activities as allowed by schedule constraints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
