Job Description

All Hazard IMT Responder is a seasonal position. This position will serve a responder to All-Hazard incidents as part of an Incident Management Team or as a single resource. Work with the Texas All-Hazard IMT Program to develop others and build the state's IMT capacity. Provide coordination to local and state incidents. Serve as an instructor as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as an all-hazard responder. At the direction of the State All-Hazard IMT Program, mobilize to support local and state incidents requiring incident management coordination. Provide expertise in Operations, Plans, Logistics or Finance.

- Serve as a mentor and trainer to others in the All-Hazard IMT Program. At the direction of the State All-Hazard Program, attend team meetings, exercises and trainings. Build the capacity of the State's IMT program.

- Serve as an instructor for FEMA All-Hazard IMT curriculum. At the direction of the agency Training & Qualifications program, work with Fire Training Specialists to deliver FEMA position specific training.

- Follow all Texas A&M University System and Texas A&M Forest Service policies and procedures.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Fire Science or related Public Safety Degree

Required Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of emergency response experience with an emergency response agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.

Required Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills.

Required Abilities: Must be able to work in a team environment. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Registrations, Certifications and Licenses:

Required: Texas Driver's license (Class C) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Incident Management Team (IMT) certifications in one or more of the following functional areas: Operations, Plans, Logistics, Finance. Persons serving in fire operation positions must meet and maintain the appropriate physical fitness standard.

Preferred: FEMA All-Hazard Type 3 Section Chief in one of the following: Operations, Plans, Logistics, Finance.
