Aircraft Tool Room Attendant

This position serves as support staff for the academic programs housed within the Aviation Maintenance Technology Division. The person hired for this position will be responsible for the distribution of tools to students, staff, and faculty, as well as maintenance of tools, equipment, inventory, assisting with OSHA compliance and other regulatory safety standards, classroom and lab support for instructional programs, and procurement of materials for laboratory activities.

To thrive in this role, you will need knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and procedures, experience in aircraft maintenance procedures and operations, the ability to identify aircraft parts that meet appropriate standards and FAA requirements, as well as the ability to use MS Office and other specific software for tool inventory, tracking, analysis, and report generation. The ability to get along with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some training in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Must possess a valid driver's license (must meet and maintain UA safe driver verification criteria).

Position Details:

This position is located on the Aviation Technology Complex on Merrill Field Airport, approximately two miles north of the UAA campus, in Anchorage, AK. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
