The UC Merced Community and Labor Center seeks an Agricultural Work Policy Coordinator (Academic Coordinator I) with a background in agricultural work policy. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Coordinator will develop and lead an agricultural work policy collaborative, conduct outreach and convene unions, worker organizations, and community-based organizations with an interest in agricultural workers' rights, enforcement, and high road strategies for improving industry standards. The coordinator will assess program and constituency needs for engaging with research, education and policy development, plan and develop activities that support the UC Merced Community and Labor Center’s Worker Resource Center program, and a regional high road collaborative on agricultural worker policy.

The coordinator will liaise with multiple collaboratives, including campus stakeholders and diverse regional stakeholders, such as community-based organizations, labor unions, environmental justice groups, and local and state public agencies; while keeping the leadership and committees informed, engaged, and organized to align work across applied research, civic engagement, coalition development, and policy development.

The coordinator will collaborate with center researchers in the development of working papers, publications, and funding opportunities to advance the intellectual and scholarly missions of the Community and Labor Center, any programs engaged with the Worker Resource Center, and UC Merced. The coordinator will also participate in the administration of the Community and Labor Center through appropriate roles in governance and policy formulation. As well as represent the university and the Worker Resource Center as an expert in workers' rights.
