Job Description

The Agricultural Research Worker, under supervision, supports research or teaching laboratories, farms, or ranches by performing specialized tasks.
Responsibilities:
-Assists in the preparation, irrigation, and harvest of field plots and greenhouse plants.
-Uses field research equipment, procedures, and apparatuses in conducting field experiments.
-Performs a variety of work assignments utilizing mechanical, carpentry, and welding skills.
-Assists with feeding and care of research animals.
-Performs minor repairs to greenhouses, buildings, and farm/ranch equipment.
-Operates farm equipment such as tractors, plows, cultivators, etc.
-Collects, records, and prepares analyses on field research data collected.
-Orders necessary supplies to support laboratory research.

-Other duties as required.


Required Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-One year of related experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of agricultural field research or laboratory work.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
