The University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (CAES) is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Dean for Research. The position, housed on the Athens campus, will serve as a member of the CAES administrative team and report directly to the Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Agricultural Experiment Stations in providing support and direction for the College’s research enterprise. The position also works collaboratively with CAES Extension and Academic Affairs to enhance the tripartite mission of the College.
The College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (CAES) is one of the largest and most research-intensive colleges of agriculture in the nation. Our research, instruction, and extension activities support a $74.3 billion agricultural industry, the largest sector of the economy in the state of Georgia.
Assessment of rank on hire for Tenure Track appointees will be consistent with criteria on page 21 of Tenure Track Rank Qualifications . For non-Tenure Track appointments, assessment of rank on hire will be consistent with various Appointment Guidelines for Different Faculty Ranks .

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has approximately 2000 students, over 570 tenure track and public service faculty members, and more than 1000 support employees across the state. Candidates must have a terminal degree, preferably in one of the agricultural sciences or a related field, and have experience in land-grant and agricultural research settings.
