Description of Work Unit

The Department of Agricultural Biology is committed to excellence in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about insects, plant pathogens, and plants. AB focuses its teaching, research, and outreach missions in four program areas: 1) Genomics and Molecular Biology, 2) Ecology and Biodiversity, 3) Biology and Management of Invasive Species, and 4) Integrated Pest Management. Being interdisciplinary in nature, AB values cooperative and collaborative efforts within departmental teams, other research teams within the University, stakeholder, and industry.
Position Summary
The department accepts applications on an ongoing basis from individuals who are interested in obtaining research associate positions. The open position may be a temporary, special, or regular Research Associate (Level I or II) assignment and may be for limited duration. This is an open pool, and applications will be forwarded to open positions as they become available.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Level I is an entry-level position for individuals with a bachelor’s degree and less than 3 years of professional experience.
  • Level II includes individuals with an RAI + 3 years of professional experience or bachelor’s degree + 3 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree.
  • Additional required qualifications, rank and salary determined by specific position to be filled.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not sponsor a visa for this position
