Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a VEX Robotics/STEM Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for robotics, STEM education, and inspiring students to explore the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on learning experiences. Teacher will work for two weeks (10 days) for 6.5 hours a day during the iROCK Summer Lit Camp (May 30, 2024 - June 13, 2024), and will resume normal duties during the school year. 


Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement engaging curriculum focused on VEX Robotics and STEM concepts for students.
  •   Teach students foundational principles of robotics, including programming, mechanics, electronics, and problem-solving skills.
  •   Lead and facilitate hands-on robotics activities and projects, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.
  •   Maintain and organize robotics equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  •   Mentor and coach students participating in robotics competitions, guiding them in design, construction, and programming of robots.
  •   Attend regular staff meetings and engage in professional development activities.
  •   Perform other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications:
     
    A Bachelor's degree in Education, a STEM-related field, or equivalent experience is required for this role, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree.

    • Adept in curriculum planning and implementation


    Preferred Qualifications: 
    Previous teaching experience in robotics, engineering, or STEM education, demonstrating a strong foundation in educational practices.  Has the ability to work at least one day after school and some weekends for competitions.
