Job Summary

Our Prepare Program staff evaluate readiness for anesthesia and surgery and ensure patients complete  necessary tests before an operation. We also provide instructions on hospital admission, including where to check in, restrictions on what the patient can eat and drink before surgery, and how to manage their medications.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required in a health care related field from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of four (4) years (compensatory with supervisor position) of related healthcare management or Nurse Practitioner III or Senior Physician Assistant experience, and five (5) years (compensatory with supervisor position)  of APP clinical employment experience within the past eight (8) years in a healthcare.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as an Advanced Practitioner.
  • In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, systems, external regulations and internal policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of management and staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate prepared.
  • Advanced experience in clinical specialty supervising APPs.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively supervise clinicians, manage complex workflow and multiple priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
  • Working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document APP performance.
  • Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinics / clinical departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and professional growth by achieving promotion to NP 3 classification.

License/Certification

  • Current California licensure in good standing by specialty:
    • RN / NP,
    • Physician Assistant, 
    • RN /CRNA
    • RN / CNM
  • Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
  • Current Furnishing license as required by specialty.
  • National Provider Identifications (NPI).
  • National board certification in area of clinical practice upon hire.
  • Current AHA CPR.
  • Current AHA ACLS.
