Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Adult & Transfer Center at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) is searching for Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligible transfer students to join our team as an Adult & Transfer Student Ambassador. This role is crucial in supporting both prospective and current adult and transfer students in their transition and integration into the EKU community. Through a variety of responsibilities, the Adult & Transfer Student Ambassador will contribute to creating a welcoming, informative, and supportive environment that emphasizes the unique needs and success of adult and transfer students.
As an Adult & Transfer Student Ambassador within the Adult & Transfer Center, you will assist with our outreach and support efforts. Your tasks will range from administrative support to direct engagement with students, providing you with a diverse work experience. This position is perfect for students who are passionate about helping others, possess strong communication skills, and are eager to make a positive impact on their peers' educational journeys.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at EKU and eligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS) funding.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled student who transferred to EKU.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A genuine interest in supporting and advocating for the needs of adult and transfer students.
Job Duties:
- 15% - Welcome and Outreach Initiatives: Prepare and send out welcome packets and other mailings to prospective students, ensuring they feel supported and informed from the start. - (Essential)
- 15% - CRM Management: Perform updates and maintenance tasks within our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to help streamline communications and keep student records up to date. - (Essential)
- 15% - Peer Recruitment and Advisement: Engage with potential transfer students by sharing your own experiences and offering insights into the benefits of joining the EKU community, thereby assisting in recruitment efforts. - (Essential)
- 30% - Customer Service: Provide exemplary customer service to students, faculty, and staff by answering questions, directing inquiries, and offering assistance with a variety of services and resources available at the Adult & Transfer Center. - (Essential)
- 25% - Event Participation: Assist in the planning and execution of events aimed at adult and transfer students including tours. - (Essential)
