Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Faculty Non-Tenure Stream

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for a full-time non-tenure stream Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Faculty.

Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for this non-tenure stream faculty position include an earned doctorate (DNP or PhD), and unencumbered RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor – A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing or a related field is required; B) Certification as an AGACNP; C) Evidence of excellence in clinical practice and potential for excellence in classroom teaching and mentoring and contributing to a learning environment that values inclusivity; D) Demonstrated expertise in the area of nursing or expertise in a related substantive area; E) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work.

Associate Professor – A) An earned doctorate (DNP or PhD) in nursing or a related field; B) Certification as an AGACNP; C) Evidence of excellence in clinical practice and potential for excellence in classroom teaching and mentoring and contributing to a learning environment that values inclusivity; D) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity in a substantive area as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material; E) Expertise recognized at the national/international level.

Professor – A) An earned doctorate (DNP or PhD) in nursing or a related field; B) Certification as an AGACNP; C) Evidence of sustained excellence as a teacher (clinical and classroom) and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values inclusivity; D) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity in a substantive area as indicated by publications, external grants, or any other validating material; E) Expertise recognized at the national/international level with sustained knowledge and leadership in an area of specialty; F) Demonstrates sustained commitment to community services related to areas of professional expertise.
