Job Summary

The Admissions Specialist II under general supervision, provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff through various means of communication. Offers information regarding University services and information related to admissions, academics, registration procedures, advising services, residency, transcripts, academic programs, and financial aid. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff who call in and email inquiries.

  • Assists Javelina Enrollment Services Center (JESC) with walk ins, as needed

  • Guides, directs, and answers questions. Resolves problems for students seeking admission information and forms.

  • Guides and helps students applying for admission and with understanding admission requirements.

  • Reviews and processes admission documents for applicants.

  • Reviews admission applications and determines residency for tuition purposes or requests required documents.

  • Assists students by articulating courses that are involved in the admission and registration process.

  • Provides assistance in managing student worker schedules when needed.

  • Provides support in tandem with the admission processing team to maintain suitable phone coverage.

  • Helps, guides, and assists students to check admission status.

  • Conducts presentations and informational sessions on admissions requirements and programs.

  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Education – Associate degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience –Two years of related experience.

Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Other Requirements

  • Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

  • Travel required.
