Job Description

Reporting to the University Registrar and Executive Director of Records and Admissions, the Admissions Processing Coordinator I oversees day-to-day office operations as it pertains admission application processing, residency determinations, transcript entry and the evaluation of transfer credit. In coordination with and under the guidance of the Executive Director, this position manages the processing team to ensure established standards and processing timelines are achieved, compliance is and maintained, and the highest level of customer service is provided.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, develops, manages and provides direction for the admission processing team with high focus on compliance and timely processing.
  • Monitors data entry and admission decisions to ensure compliance with applicable admission standards and institutional policies.
  • Oversees academic transcript entry and the transfer equivalency review process, which includes managing the Transfer Equivalency System (TES) used to request faculty approval and/or recommendations for course equivalents.
  • Oversees residency determinations, re-classifications, and determines eligibility for non-resident tuition waivers
  • Maintains an efficient filing system and maintain records in accordance with records retention policies.
  • Evaluates customer complaints and proposes solutions.
  • Suggests and proposes solutions for improved processes and customer service.
  • Utilizes and makes recommendations for improving computer reports in order to obtain and provide data to the Executive Director.
  • Maintains a current manual for office and student information system operations.
  • Provides on-going training for staff members and student workers.

Minimum Requirements:

Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Experience – Three years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of functions of higher education. Knowledge of recruitment and marketing.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to use technology to track and process students through admissions processes. Ability to collect, write, and report various types of data sets.
